Position Overview

We're seeking a talented individual to join our team as the Head of Client Strategy. This role will be primarily focused on client strategy and leading team members to success.  Reporting directly to the CEO/Founder, the Head of Client Strategy will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our agency. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, client management expertise, and hands-on execution within a small agency environment. The position will be based out of NYC, with the option to work remote or hybrid.


Key Responsibilities

Strategy Development:

  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive client strategies that align with business objectives and deliver measurable results.

  • Provide top tier strategic counsel to clients.  

  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships.

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify market trends, consumer insights, and competitive landscapes, providing strategic recommendations.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to translate strategic plans into actionable tactics, ensuring alignment with client expectations and project objectives.

Client Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, building and nurturing strong relationships based on trust and collaboration.

  •  Understand clients' business goals, challenges, and industry landscape to develop tailored strategies that drive results and exceed expectations.

  • Proactively identify opportunities for account growth and expansion, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.

  •  Collaborate with the CEO/Founder to develop and refine internal processes and workflows, optimizing efficiency and productivity across the organization.

 Cross-Functional Support:

  • Work closely with other departments, including media relations, editorial and operations, to support project execution and ensure seamless delivery of client initiatives.

  • Provide strategic guidance and direction to team members, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with the CEO/Founder to develop and refine internal processes and workflows, optimizing efficiency and productivity across the organization.

Marketing and Business Development:

  • Contribute to and support new business efforts by participating in client pitches, presentations, and proposal development, showcasing the agency's capabilities and value proposition.

  • Identify potential growth opportunities within existing client accounts and assist in the development of strategic initiatives to capitalize on those opportunities.


Qualifications

  • Proven experience (10+ years) in client strategy, account management, and business development within an agency environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and build consensus among stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving results in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

  • Strategic thinker with a proactive mindset and a passion for driving growth and innovation.

  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial/growth mindset

  • Natural customer obsession + whatever it takes attitude

  • Strong understanding of marketing principles, digital trends, the media landscape and industry best practices.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field. (MBA).
