Senior Director of Client Experience and Media Relations

Position Overview

We're seeking a talented individual to join our team as the Senior Director of Media Relations and Client Experience, dedicated to ensuring exceptional customer success. Supporting both client operations and backend internal processes, our ideal candidate is deeply committed to delivering outstanding service and exceeding client expectations. This pivotal role will primarily focus on media relations, content development, and project management, guaranteeing a top-tier experience for our clients. Reporting directly to the SVP of Client Service and Strategy, this position will play a critical role in executing media relations projects while sweating the small stuff to drive superior customer satisfaction. It demands a unique blend of strategic media relations skills and meticulous attention to detail within a small agency setting. The position will be based out of NYC, with the option to work remote or hybrid.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management and Client Experience:

  • Support seamless client communication and excellent customer service across all aspects of the organization.

  • Collaborate with the CEO and SVP to implement internal processes and workflows that optimize efficiency, productivity across the organization while delivering the highest level of client success.

  • Capture, organize and track and prioritize all internal and external project related information to ensure a superior level of client success and experience.

  • Work closely with other departments, including media relations, editorial and operations, to support project execution and ensure seamless delivery of client initiatives.

Client Service Across Media Relations and Content Development:

  • Develop and support the implementation of comprehensive client strategies that align with business objectives and deliver measurable results across media relations and content creation.

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify market trends, consumer insights, and competitive landscapes, providing strategic recommendations.

  • Continuous evaluation and analysis of results. 

Marketing Support:

  • Contribute to and support marketing and new business efforts by supporting client pitches, presentations, and proposal development, showcasing the agency's capabilities and value proposition.

  • Create compelling content (written and social) to support overall brand positioning.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience (7-10+ years) in project management, media relations, account management, and business development within an agency environment.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Obsessed with customer service.

  • Highly organized, dynamic self-starter.

  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial/growth mindset.

  • Natural customer obsession + whatever it takes attitude.

  • Strong understanding of marketing principles, digital trends, the media landscape and industry best practices.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field. (MBA a plus).
