Kathy Gardner

Kathy Gardner is an award-winning public relations professional with 17 years of experience developing and executing comprehensive communications programs that enhance executive reputations and grow brand authority in competitive markets.

Renowned for her innovative media relations campaigns, Kathy expertly translates complex concepts into engaging messages for key audiences and stakeholders. As a strategic thinker with both PR agency and in-house experience, she has worked with a diverse array of B2B and B2C brands across technology, consumer, education, financial, healthcare, and legal industries to share their stories in authentic and ambitious ways. Throughout her career, Kathy has built enduring relationships with reporters, securing significant coverage in top-tier publications such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, CNN, Fortune, TIME, Forbes, and Money, as well as segments on the Today Show, Good Morning America, NPR, and Bloomberg TV.

A natural storyteller and trusted partner, Kathy has collaborated closely with C-Suite leaders to refine their corporate narratives and prepare them for national attention.  She has ghostwritten for executives in Fast Company, Entrepreneur, Inc, and Harvard Business Review and advised multiple entrepreneurs on communication strategies during pivotal moments of transition and growth. 

Notably, as VP of Communications at FlexJobs, Kathy established the CEO and the company as the leading authority on remote work through strategic press, events, and partnerships. She regularly collaborated with leaders from Microsoft, Anthem, SAP, ADP, Dell, and other forward-thinking companies to advance conversations around critical future-of-work trends in the media and at national conferences, including SXSW. She played a critical role in supporting BOLD's acquisition of FlexJobs, ensuring a successful sale, transition, and integration. She then went on to lead BOLD's global Corporate Communications department, directing its public relations, social media, webinar, and internal communications teams.

Kathy holds a BA in English from Dartmouth College and an MA in Mass Communications from the University of Alabama. Outside of work, she serves as the Vice-Chair of the New York Metro Chapter of the Star Legacy Foundation, the nation’s largest non-profit dedicated to stillbirth education, research, and awareness.
